Christmas Light Installation FAQ's

Rain Sleet or Snow
Ever thought what would happen if you placed an electrical device outside in the rain and turned it on? You will most likely pop a breaker or trip a GFCI switch on the electrical outlet. We do use commercial quality materials on our installs but even that cannot overcome the effects of water on electricity. The best thing you can do to keep your installation running all season long is unplug all clocks, timers, or cords while it is raining or snowing. Wait for the lines to dry out before plugging everything back in.

Christmas Light Self Help
We require you to complete these steps before calling our 24hr Tech Support so that we can provide a higher level of service to all of our customers. You can imagine how many Tech Support calls we get following a rain storm. If your system is off, follow these three steps to solve 90% of the calls for tech support. Almost all calls occur just after a rain storm has saturated the lines. Please wait for lines to dry out before completing these steps. Pay attention to the direction of Sprinkler systems. Follow these simple self help tips and you will greatly reduce any possible downtime this season. 1. Check the Breakers. Open the Breaker box, usually located in the garage or utility room, and see if one indicates a tripped breaker with a red switch. If the rain has dried then throw this switch to the on position and then go reset the clocks and timers. 2. Inspect the timers and clocks that may be installed on your circuit. Ensure the time is accurate and that any breaker built into the timer or clock is not tripped. 3. Check to see if the GFCI button is tripped at the socket. The GFCI switch could be on any socket in the house. Check them all and ensure they are all reset. Then reset any timers attached to your Christmas Lights.
